Does your young dog act quite aggressive? Does his biting behaviour get in the way of your life? If YES, you need to start correcting this unsatisfactory behavior before it becomes a habit for your small puppy. Puppy biting behaviour is a typical problem, particularly with new puppies, and it should be addressed straight away. Customarily, your young dog will not stop doing this unpleasant behavior overnight. With the assistance of proper pup training methods, your baby dog can ultimately get used to not bite humans, other pets, and valuable products that he will see.

Did you know that many puppies bite for a few different reasons? These reasons include teething, playing, and exploring other things around thier area. Unlike big dogs, puppies don't have any clue on what is and how damaging biting another pet or person can be; the owner like you have to help your little puppy to be told how to cease this unsatisfactory behaviour. These are some recommendations on how to stop your young dog from biting.

Mother’s Methodology

According to several pet owners, this is one of the most useful ways to teach your dog to stop his biting behavior. Use the way its mum would have used to control this unacceptable behavior. For instance, make a high-pitched noise when your dog bites. Let him know that you were hurt and you should sound as load as you are able, especially if he begins biting again. Additionally, you’ve got to try to avoid your young dog and refuse to play with her for a couple of hours. Doing that, will let your young dog know that you're unhappy with how she behaved. Furthermore, it'll allow it to realize you are not going to play with him unless it acts well and give up biting people & things.

Biting Prevention Training

Another good way to stop your puppy from biting is by instructing him to follow the command for the behavior you need him to improve. You can do it by holding your pet’s mouth for about 5 seconds. Praise your puppy and say a sentence like “Close your mouth”; it is best to do that when your puppy is relaxed. This is going to help him learn that biting is not a wanted behaviour. You ought to be careful when you do this drilling with your little dog; you should hold his mouth gently to make him feel comfy.

Other Consideration

Pet owners should avoid applying punishments such as slapping or swatting their yound dogs. Keep under consideration that physical punishments won't help you to fix your dog’s behavior. In fact , they will cause your young dog to become more keen to nip and will cause straight to this unsatisfactory behaviour out of anger. Hope that those convenient pointers will help you guys to coach your little puppy. Best Wishes!

Sure, we all love our dogs. The indoor poop and the pee spots are unfortunate incidents that happen to come with the package. Wouldn’t it be great though to not have to deal with cleaning up his mess anymore? With your patience and these tips on potty training dogs, it can be done.

House training dogs is not exactly the most enjoyable part of dog ownership; this is why you will find many adult dogs still untrained in the ways of proper toilet habits. It is always simpler to teach puppies but training older dogs on this is still a relatively manageable goal.

It will be helpful to know that it is easier to train older canines to do than to don’t. What this means is that if he is not taught how to go out to eliminate; you will find it almost impossible to undo this learned behavior. You will need to teach him a new habit. In this scenario, it is going outdoors to do his business.

Look for a spot outdoors specifically to use for his toilet needs. The dog will feel like eliminating ten to fifteen minutes after eating. Take him out to the designated area around that time. As you walk to his spot, keep repeating a phrase he will associate with this activity like, ‘go potty’. When he finally does, lavish him with praise so he will understand that what he just did was good. Keep doing this process for several weeks, using the same spot each time. You need to be consistent in house training dogs.

Once in a while you will still come across the dreaded mound of discharge inside your house. If he is in the middle of potty, stop him quickly and bring him outside to finish his business. Give him treats when he discharges outside successfully. If you do find the poop without the pet nearby it will be no use to yell at him anymore. He will not understand your reason for being upset and this will only serve to confuse him. To ensure this doesn’t happen again, be extra vigilant after meals.

In case it happens, clean the accident immediately as thoroughly as possible. Use a solution that combats odor to get rid of any residual smell it might leave behind or else the dog will revisit his spot and use it to eliminate again. Remember in potty training dogs, they do not like sharing their sleeping area and their toilet area; so keep their cage or crate as small as possible without it being too cramped for them.

Do not feed him or put water and food inside his cage at night so your sleep will not be disturbed. You can take him outside to discharge in the morning or even after he wakes up from a short cat, I mean, dog nap. When you have succeeded in teaching him how to go out for this particular activity, see to it that leaving the house is as convenient as possible for him. A swinging dog flap installed in your doors or a cage near an open back door will do the job.

Potty training dogs is every responsible pet owner’s priority. This will keep your dog disciplined and mentally stimulated- a good preparation for other obedience tasks. More than that, your home will welcome the change and thank you for it.

It’s finally here! You’ve passed by that pet store or animal shelter so many times deliberating the pros and cons of animal ownership and you got it at last. The new puppy is home. Great–what now? Play times with the young pup is a great time to bond and enjoy each other’s company but there’s more to having a dog than that. Puppies don’t know what’s appropriate from inappropriate behavior and not knowing this might harm him or people around him. House training a puppy usually takes place then. If you’re new at this, it’s all good — we were all new once. You will need the four basic puppy training tips as listed below to help you in your endeavors of raising a happy and well-adjusted dog.

1. You need to set yourself firmly in the position of authority. The foundation of a healthy relationship with your dog is the correct view of both of your positions in the ultimate hierarchy of things. It’s easy to be indulgent with a cute puppy– but if you don’t nip it in the bud, a domineering and bratty dog will be your future headache. Start teaching him how to submit to you by giving him simple commands to obey. Use a firm voice when you say ‘Sit!’ and gently push him down to that position. Once he understands that you are his superior other commands will be easier to teach.

2. You have to train the puppy on proper toilet habits. This should probably be one of the first things you will ever learn in house training a puppy. Bring him outside to a designated potty place fifteen minutes after every meal. Walk around the spot until he unloads and lavish him with accolades when he does. Do this for a few weeks so his mind will set a pattern for the right dog activities in regards to potty. If there should be accidents inside the house, thoroughly clean the area with a deodorizer so he will not return to claim his kingdom after a few days.

3. You need to socialize the puppy. Puppy training tips include socialization of the dog as early as possible. Ideally, the optimum time to do this is when he is a few weeks old until about three months of age. Introduce him to different kinds of people as well as other healthy and vaccinated animals. Take him with you on rides and busy places like malls and parks. A healthy, well-adjusted and confident dog is a result of effective socialization developed in his younger years.

4. You must speak the language puppies understand. The best and probably the only language most animals understand is rewarding him for being good and scolding him for being bad. That part is easy; the trick lies in doing it consistently every day. You cannot reprimand him for being overly aggressive at play one day and the next day overlook the same behavior. This confuses the puppy. Be consistent in your training.

Simple right? Puppy training tips just go on from here but these are the fundamental issues you need to deal with and the others will be easier. Make a commitment in training your puppy; it is fun and interesting. You will find yourself itching to get another one before long.

by Kevin Lynch

Housetraining is regularly the number one main concern for the majority of families when they get a new puppy. Very few puppies will be housetrained as soon as you get them. There are two very successful methods you can use to housetrain your puppy and you can use just one of them or you can even use them simultaneously.

The first routine may be the most demanding as you will need to be very watchful about staying with your puppy and noticing his conduct. Puppies will squat to urinate and defecate and you will need to watch attentively but as soon as you see your puppy changing stance you must scoop him up and take him outside to his designated spot. If you happen to miss the signs you must not reprimand your puppy because he does not yet know what is expected of him.

If you happen to miss the signs totally and you come across an disaster afterward, do not admonish him. Dogs can only connect to what is happening at this moment and he will not know why he is in trouble if you scold him after the fact. This will just serve to confound your puppy and that will cause you more troubles in the future.

The newspaper process is the second way of housetraining your puppy. Cover the whole floor where your puppy runs around. He will do his business on the paper and he will quickly learn that the paper is tolerable. You must then regularly eliminate more and more newspaper until there is only a small piece left. Then you will be able to take the newspaper outside to the selected spot. He will then start going there where the paper is.

Both of these methods can be very helpful. You may want to use the first method of attention during the day and the newspapers at night. If you are frequently busy with other things you may want to use the newspaper method more frequently.

Sometimes during housetraining, a puppy will go through a point where he seems to regress and fail to remember what he has learned. This is a exasperating occurrence but it is ordinary so do not rebuke him for it.

You can use his own natural dog behavior to get him back on track. A dog will not soil in his own space. Use a crate and make it comfortable for him. Let him slumber in his crate and when you let him out, right away take him to his selected spot. He will have to relieve himself immediately and he will quickly learn that this is the only appropriate spot to do his business.

Housetraining does not need to be thorny or frightening. Both of these methods can be quite successful and if you try them along with some patience you will be triumphant with your housetraining before you know it.

Puppies are so cute; everybody loves them. They are curious, fun, playful and cuddley and we tend to love every part of owning a new puppy until they do their duty in the house and then we have to deal with the biggest problem and difficulty of having a new puppy, puppy house training.

House training a puppy can be frustrating and difficult sometimes. But we all need to remember that a puppy is still just a baby. He has not yet learned how to control himself and until he gets older to where he has some of the control he will need you to be patient and loving as you spend individual time with him teaching him what is admissible.

At 12 weeks of age a puppy may need to go out to potty as often as every 15-20 minutes and even more if he is actively playing. A resting puppy will not have to go out quite as frequently so during the nighttime you can have more time especially if he is sleeping. Do not wake up a sleeping puppy just make sure to take him out to potty as soon as he wakes up.

The important thing to remember when you are potty training your puppy is to be consistent. Make sure and have a leash and take him to the same designated potty place every time. Use consistent commands such as “potty now” and repeat the commands as necessary. Consistency is what it crucial when it comes to puppy house training.

If you make the entire experience a positive one|potty training a positive experience for your puppy your puppy house training will be completed sooner. That means that you will need to be patient and loving even when there is a mishap. Just take him outside and praise him when he does it correctly and don’t give it any attention when he does it wrong. Your puppy wants to please you so it is crucial that you do not do anything that will confound him.

Using a crate will help you in your puppy house training when have to leave your puppy at home. Dogs naturally try to keep their own space clean so a crate will help your puppy to learn how to control himself. Dogs are also natural den animals so they enjoy having a small home of their own.

A positive atmosphere and consistency will be the most important aspects of your puppy house training. Make sure that you consistently take your puppy outside, that you consistently take him to the same spot and that you consistently give him praise and treats for doing his duty. If you make the whole puppy house training experience a positive one for your puppy you will have success more quickly and it will be more effective.

Puppy house training is the most crucial part of owning a new puppy and you can train your puppy in just a few short weeks if you are consistent and positive about the training. You will then be able to enjoy your puppy more as he grows and you will never have to worry about accidents in the house again.

Getting a new puppy is always an exciting time for a pet owner. Puppies are so cute and adorable that it’s hard not to love them. They quickly become part of the family and everyone loves the playing, the curiosity and the sweet cuddliness but nobody likes it when they do their duty in the house. Puppy potty training is probably the most challenging and likely the only real problem associated with owning a new puppy but if you are going to be a happy dog owner you will need to make sure that your puppy house training is effectively completed.

You will need to work closely with and have patience with your new puppy when it comes to housetraining. A puppy is still just a baby and a puppy does not have the comprehension level yet to know what you want him to do. It will be easier to finish your puppy house training if you are patient and loving with your puppy. Even though it is disappointing when your puppy has an accident in the house if you are impatient and express anger your puppy housetraining will take more time.

At 12 weeks of age a puppy may need to go out to potty as rfrequently as every 15-20 minutes and even more if he is actively playing. A quietly resting or sleeping puppy will not have to potty quite as often so during the nighttime you can have more time usually if he is sound asleep. Do not awaken a sleeping puppy just make sure to take him out to potty as soon as he wakes up.

The most important aspect to puppy house training is to be consistent. Use the same commands, take him to the same spot and give him consistent praise and treats. Your puppy will learn quickly if you consistently do things the same way but change anything up and he will get confused. Puppies respond well to consistency.

If you make the entire experience a positive one|potty training a positive experience for your puppy your puppy house training will be finished sooner. That means that you will need to be patient and loving even when there is an accident. Just take him outside and praise him when he does it correctly and don’t give it any attention when he does it wrong. Your puppy wants to make you happy so it is important that you do not do anything that will confound him.

It is unlikely that you will be able to spend all of your time with your puppy so when you need to be away from your puppy you should use a crate. Puppies and dogs are natural den animals and they crave a small space of their own. Also, puppies will rarely soil their own place so a crate will help to teach your puppy how to control himself.

A positive atmosphere and consistency will be the most crucial aspects of your puppy house training. Make sure that you are consistently taking your puppy outside, that you consistently take him to the same spot and that you consistently give him praise and treats for a job well done. If you make the whole puppy house training experience a positive one for your puppy you will have success quicker and it will be more effective.

In a just a few weeks your puppy house training will be completed and you will no longer have to worry about accidents in the house. Puppy house training is the most important aspect of having a new puppy but it can be much simpler than you expect if you are consistent and positive.

by Matt McGrath

Well-behaved dogs are a joy to be around and a pleasure to own. Most well-behaved dogs are the ones who have been through obedience training. As a reliable dog-owner it is up to you to make sure that your dog is properly trained in obedience. An untrained dog is aggravating to be around and causes many difficulties for their owners.

Well-trained dogs will never cause their owners to feel awkward. They require fewer restrictions and can be relied upon in all situations. In this way a well-trained dog is nice to own. A well-trained dog will never cause unnecessary difficulties for his master.

We have all met dogs that were rowdy, barked excessively and jumped at inappropriate times or on the wrong places or people. Visitors often fear the untrained dog because they don’t know how to handle the dog’s poor behavior. Poorly behaved dogs make everyone uneasy.

If you take your dog out to a public place you are much more inclined to be accepted if your dog is well-mannered. Strangers, friends and family all react to you in a more positive manner with a well-behaved and appropriately trained dog. It is much easier for everyone if your dog has good manners and is well-behaved.

A poorly behaved dog is uncomfortable for everyone but it is never because of the dog. As a conscientious dog-owner you need to make sure that your dog is appropriately trained. Your dog needs to see you as the “alpha dog” or the leader of the pack. That means that your word is law and with that the bond between you as master and your dog will be bolstered. By doing this you will avert many potential problems and both you and your dog will be happier.

If you want to keep your dog out of danger, obedience training is one of the most crucial things that you can do. If your dog slips out of his collar in the middle of a busy intersection you will be able to control your dog until you are able to get to a safer place. If someone neglects to lock your gate and your dog gets out you will be able to get your dog to come back and you won’t have to contend with the animal control people picking him up and taking him away. A well-trained dog will save you time, energy and frustration.

It is nice to have the ease of knowing that your dog is reliable and dependable around children. This can even be a liability issue and it is very important. Good manners, proper behavior in a crowd and dependability are important aspects that your dog will gain with the proper obedience training.

If you take the time, the energy and the money to effectively train your dog it will provide well for you for the entire time you own your dog. Both of you will be much happier, healthier and more at ease because of it.

Crate training a pet is inherent for dog behavior modification …So, you must first appreciate the function of the crate. The purpose of the crate IS NOT for discipline. If you suitably crate train a pet, he will feel it as his “sanctuary” and will be happy to spend time there when required.

1. The first thing you want to do when you crate train a dog is put the crate in a location of your home where the family passes a great deal of time, like the family room. Make sure you put a cozy blanket in the crate.

2. Next, guide your canine near the crate and talk to him in a joyful manner of voice. Be sure the entry to the crate is wide open. For dog behavior modification, motivate your canine to go in the crate with food snacks around it and right inside the crate (close to the door) and lastly all the way inside the crate. Don’t muscle your canine inside the crate. If he doesn’t prefer to go…it is alright. Continue to toss treats inside the crate until the canine steps peacefully completely in to the crate to get the treats. If food doesn’t do the job, try employing a favorite toy. Employ your body to close the entry, after your canine goes in the crate.

3. Go over number 2, in place of obstructing the entry with your body, fasten the entry to the crate.

4. Provide a delectable chomp toy (by layering it with peanut butter or cream cheese), lead your canine within the crate. While he is in the crate, give him the chomp toy and shut the door. While your canine is enthralled in chewing, move around, periodically going outdoors. Release your canine from the crate once he finishes chewing (or once he gets up if he’s been napping) but only if he is unexcited.

5. Praise your pet once he is in the crate, but don’t applaud him as he is coming out of his crate. This teaches him that being in the crate is favorable and pleasant, while coming out is indistinguishable. Also, don’t make a huge display while showing him in or fetching him out, thus he will identify it as no huge deal.

Dog behavior modification originates with you, the loyal pet owner. Crate training is just one phase of many to keep your dog happy and healthy.
