The French Mastiff dogs are not tall and possess a height of 23 to 30 inches. Their posture is composed and robust because of their perceptibly huge frame and muscular symmetry. Unlike the bat-eared Blue French bulldogs, the French Mastiffs do not have a flat face nor do they have projecting ears like the bats. Their ears really hang low from each side of their head.
The heads of the French Mastiff dogs are, to some degree, rounded to about 27 to 30 inches in circumference showing a massive appearance when observed from any perspective. The coat is short and soft to the touch and comes in a variety of shades which range from fawn (a brownish color) to apricot (yellowish orange) to brindle (tawny brown or grey marked with streaks) with a black or red mask.

The French Mastiff dogs are remarkably good guard dogs exhibiting unstinting commitment to the members of the family to which they belong. Demanding plenty of physical exercise, the French Mastiff dog prefers outdoors. Nevertheless, they manage well even with only a little space inside buildings, but generally stay silent. If they happen to remain indoors, they need a comparatively long walk, than when exposed to play outdoors.
